Over the past 3 years, we have established ourselves as a standout destination on the island, known for our exceptional craft cocktails and a vibrant menu that artfully blends Asian influences with classic oyster house staples. We are looking for a dedicated line cook to help execute our menu to the highest degree of excellence. We will help train you to cook new dishes you may not be familiar with, as well as educate you on different ingredients and techniques. As a line cook your responsibilities will vary based on your experience, but can range from the following: Making sauces, marinades, & dressings from scratch daily Maintaining a clean workstation Advanced knife work with fruits and vegetables Shucking Oysters Cleaning & prepping salad greens Fish Butchery Meat Butchery Cooking fish, lobsters, and other shellfish Cooking grains & Vegetables Building a wood-burning fire and maintaining it throughout service Grilling meats & vegetables over a fire Artfully plating dishes for service Collaborating on new menu items Ensuring the kitchen is clean at all times Breaking the kitchen down at the end of each shift Organizing the kitchen We hope you will consider joining the team at Dorothy's.
